The College of Engineering is the fifth college unit to be established on the realization that the development of the nation could be best pursued with professional engineers amongst the population. During the early years of the American regime, scores of engineers from abroad had to imported to carry out the engineering work of the government as well as plan and manage the vast construction program of the government. There were very few Filipino engineers at that time, all of them having had their education and training abroad. As later succinctly enunciated: it is the purpose of the College of Engineering to train engineers in all branches of the profession to meet the needs of the industry and the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
