(UPERDFI) and in collaboration with the UP National Engineering Center (UP NEC), is set to hold the <strong>2024 Professorial Chair Colloquium<\/strong> on November 25, 2024. This annual gathering recognizes the remarkable contributions of Professorial Chair Awardees who continue to advance excellence in teaching, research, and service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Exploring Transformative Research<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Themed <strong>\u201cFAST TRACK 2: Filipino Engineers for the Advancement of Science and Technology Through Research and Collaborative Knowledge-Sharing \u2013 Engineering Research Towards Achieving Philippine Sustainable Development Goals\u201d<\/strong>, this year\u2019s colloquium will showcase innovative and impactful research conducted by UPD COE faculty members. The event provides a unique opportunity to engage with groundbreaking engineering initiatives aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Philippines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Thematic Focus Areas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Presentations are grouped into thematic sessions that highlight pressing issues and opportunities aligned with key SDGs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Good Health and Well-being (SDG-3)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Quality Education &amp; Strong Institutions (SDG-4\/16)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG-6)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG-7)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG-9)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG-11)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG-12)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Climate Action (SDG-13)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectives of the Colloquium<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s colloquium aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Disseminate the cutting-edge research outputs of UPD COE\u2019s esteemed faculty to a broader audience, including fellow academics, industry leaders, government representatives, and policymakers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Foster meaningful dialogue by soliciting inputs and feedback from key stakeholders.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote a platform for discussing related research across different units within the College and the University, thereby exploring potential interdisciplinary applications and policy implications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Open to the Public<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The event is open to everyone with free admission.
